What is the WEEE (Waste Elecrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive?

The WEEE Directive was introduced on the 1st July 2007 to ensure that the appropriate waste is collected and recycled in a responsible manner.

The reasons for seperating WEEE from other waste:

Electrical goods that find their way to landfill sites release lead and other toxins into the land causing soil and water contamination. Thus having a negative impact on the surrounding natural habitat, wildlife and human health.
