North Doncaster Technological College Opt for Pin...

North Doncaster Technology College is a specialist 11-18 year old Technology College, located in South Yorkshire. It currently has a school population of 1370 pupils. The college has recently took advantage of advancements in technology offering faster throughput at meal times by upgrading users from an old smartcard system to Infineer’s MIDAS system where students use their own unique PIN to identify themselves.

As a technology college student’s already had a Pin for accessing their IT system and it was a simple step to move their cashless access from card to their PIN.

As with all Infineer systems students entitled to  free meals are dealt with in the same manner as other users meaning there is no stigma attached to them and their information is kept private.

Students can add money to their account by cash at wall mounted revaluation stations,  or parents can send in cheques and the school admin can allocate the monies to the account.
By the school adopting to the pin system the pupil has gained more responsibility for the operation of their account and putting less of a burden on the catering staff.

Ilford Ursuline find Pin the Solution!

Ilford Ursuline is a Roman Catholic 11-18 Girls’ Specialist College, situated in the London Borough of Redbridge. A card based system was installed recently, making it their first movement into a Cashless Catering system.

Their choice of a card based system was based on an existing card system they had installed in the library. A card based system has the benefits of being a multi-functioning key on site and enables various uses, with the card also being used for door access.

With the system installed and the user base becoming accustomed to it, Ilford Ursuline are “Very Happy” with the system.

Deansfield High School Upgrade to Fingerprint Biometrics

Deansfield High school is an 11-19 Secondary School located on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, England. It offers a wide curriculum to a school population of around 800 students. Deansfield originally had a Card Based Cashless Catering System installed in early 2004. Four years later they have recognized advancement in technology and the benefits that they can gain from it.

Deansfield High School have just recently upgraded from a Card Based system to a Fingerprint Biometric Cashless Catering System. Speaking to Mr Elwiss (Deputy Headteacher) he was "Very Happy" with the system and had "no reservations" about installing it in the school. After seeing it working on other sites before making the decision to go ahead with the system, Mr Elwiss seen it as "the next stage in the movement of improved technology with further applications to come".

The new system reduces the amount of time previously required to administer student cards, freeing valuable staff and enabling them to focus on service and food delivery.
